Robert J. Kenney Quoted on Webb Trademark Case in World Intellectual Property Review

BSKB partner Robert J. Kenney was quoted in a recent World Intellectual Property Review article on a trademark case involving "The Webb Law Firm" name. Two law firms, one in West Virginia and one in Pennsylvania, are disputing the right to use the name "The Webb Law Firm." Mr. Kenney states that "The case is interesting, because the plaintiff suggests that as “Webb” is his surname, and his family have been in the West Virginia area for many generations, he has the right to use his name in connection with his business." However, Mr. Kenney states, “That is largely irrelevant under trademark law.”
