Greg Cheng-Kang Hsu is a partner of Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP. Mr. Hsu focuses his practice on patent procurement and client counseling on infringement and validity matters.
Mr. Hsu's practice entails all aspects of patent procurement. He has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1997. He has extensive experience prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including successful arguments before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, in areas of technology including digital signal processing and circuitry, semiconductor devices and processes, computer-related hardware and software, flat panel display device and driving circuits, telecommunication systems, multimedia systems and home appliances. Mr. Hsu has also performed patent infringement and validity analysis for several corporations.
In addition to practicing intellectual property law, Mr. Hsu has lectured on a number of topics related to U.S. intellectual property protection. These topics included America Invents Act (AIA), statutory subject matter, strategies for prosecuting patent applications, non-obviousness, claim drafting, specification drafting and patent infringement.
Prior to joining BSKB, Mr. Hsu was a senior patent technical consultant at a multinational computer company and one of the top semiconductor manufacturing companies and was responsible for handling patent licensing and prosecuting patent applications.
